Myths about boarding day schools for kids are widespread that it apparently affects the parents' decision to send their ward to such places. But in reality the myths that seem to terrify most are nothing but far fetched stories. Here are a few myths that need to be busted:
Most people have a stereotypical perception of the boarding schools that they are meant for troubled children only. This is perhaps the most preposterous myth among other unreasonable ones. Boarding schools happen to have better facilities and focus on the development of the students than public school in Noida. Parents who understand it make an informed decision to put their kids in the boarding schools for better overall development
.
Another big myth is that the students in boarding are treated as prisoners and their rooms are like a prison. While it is true that boarding schools maintain a certain level of strictness which is more than traditional schools but by no means it can be at level with a prison. Students have the freedom to do things that please them as long as they adhere to the rules meant for their safety and discipline.
"Boarding school students are bookworms" is another statement often heard in discussions indicating that boarding students are not allowed to have fun. Or worse, they are incapable of having fun. Now this is so ironic that it is hard to digest for a boarding school pass out because all they know is prank. Their starts with fun and ends at it. Studies are somewhere in between followed by extracurricular activities but the one thing students get in abundance while in a boarding is fun.
Some people argue that get a pile of homework and those who either manage to do it or ignore it can have time for fun. This is again one big lie since the homework is no more than a regular school. Boarding schools focus more on extracurricular instead of turning every student into "all work no play makes jack a dull boy".
